What an Amazing Week! 1/20/14

Where to start out with this week?? There were so many things that happened! I guess the biggest is that I survived another week and am really happy to be where I am right now. Germany is amazing. This country is ready for all the prophecies! And to help it along, yesterday a baptismal date was set for one of our investigators!! That is amazing. We are sooo happy. She's been ready to be baptized for a long time, but she wanted her father to baptize her, and he's been less-active for most of his life, but now he feels as if he's ready, so the date is for the 1st of February. This family is amazing. We're also teaching her mother and hope that the entire family will embrace the Gospel.
I also got to talk to Sister Beck over the phone sometime last week, and she told me that some of my old investigators have baptismal dates, too!! It's so bittersweet being here. Not going to lie, I was a little sad when I heard, because this happened literally the week after I left. Not sad that they had baptismal dates, but sad I couldn't be there to set them and see them! But I talked to Sister Lehman about it, and she taught me so much. Basically, this happens a lot on a mission. I didn't find this family that we're teaching--I'm reaping the rewards of another missionary's work and effort. And the work I did in Hanau is being reaped by another missionary. But Sister Lehman taught me that Heavenly Father does that to remind us that this is HIS work and not ours. He sort of takes our hand out of it to show everyone that He is the one who knows what's going on, and I can't be selfish and prideful and think that I'm the one finding and teaching and baptizing. It's really just the work of Heavenly Father, and I have to be happy with the success that He lets me see. And I am SO happy for what we were able to do this week! It's been a really big learning experience this week. We had Zone Training on Friday. That was way fun. Heidelberg is really pretty! And I'm going on a split on Saturday to Darmstadt, which means I'm going to miss soccer. Bummer. I'm getting pretty good...lol.

It's been really annoying weather here. Some days it's way beautiful and I feel like it's March, and then other days it's really cold and rainy and feels like January. I wish the warm weather would stay permanently! But it is definitely still tight-weather. I can't wait to toss them all in the garbage this summer. Time's going by way too fast. Today we're going to Schwetzingen, which is apparently way beautiful. It's so fun having such good tickets that take us to so many places. Hmmm...what else...I dunno. Basically it was an amazing week, and I learned so much! Plus a baptismal date. :) So that was a pretty big miracle.
We are so gangsta.....
