Another Week in Germany 5/20/13

Familie,

Last week at district meeting we had this WAY awesome lesson about the Old Testament tabernacle and the Creation and stuff. It was AWESOME. Dad would have loved it. I'll teach it when I come home. It is sooo cool. Haha, I guess you can tell people are missionaries when they get excited about things like that, lol. But it was way cool.

Everyone in Oregon is in my prayers!  There's a really good Mormon Message if you want to watch it. It's called Mountains to Climb. It's a REALLY good one. Maybe it will help?? It's good nonetheless.

Don't have a lot to say about this week. We went to the temple today, so that was good. I'm going on a couple splits this week, so that should be fun. We had a mission-wide finding day last Saturday, and this drunk guy just talked to us for like thirty minutes about how we're brainwashed and how I have to get out, especially because I'm from Utah. That was fun. BUT it was sort of a miracle. So yeah, we were talking to this crazy drunk guy with like no teeth, and we were on a train, and we were talking to him so we missed our stop. Anyway, after a little bit we were like, 'Uhh...yeah, we have to get off now.' So he got off with us, but while we were on the train we saw a guy we had talked to a couple weeks before who had had no interest. But then he got off the train, too, to talk to us! He was like HEY I have some questions. So we were able to talk to him a little bit after the drunk guy went away. Does that make sense?? Sorry, I read over it and it's not written very well. But yeah, if we had gotten off out our right stop we wouldn't have seen that other guy.

Also that day there were like three more crazy drunk guys who talked to us. There was this bachelor party with a bunch of drunk guys, and they were trying to hook us up with the engaged guy, and then this other guy was drunk and was talking to us again and stuff. Yaaay drunk people all over Germany on Saturday nights! Haha. It was fun. I like the fun drunks who make me laugh. I don't like the drunks who tell me I'm wrong. Also this crazy drunk lady growled at us. It was really funny.

Sounds as if everything is good there! It was really fun to see you all last week. I'm doing really well here. Lots of ups, and of course lots of downs! But it helps that this is the Lord's work! Today we're going to have another lesson with Mahari, this little old African guy we found about a month ago. He takes everything very seriously, which is good, and he has lots of questions, which is also good. He's awesome! I hope we go somewhere with him. He would be a legit member of the church. He reads the Koran a lot, and once we were like, 'Uh...Mahari, do you believe in the Koran?' And he was like, 'What? NO!! Those people are crazy! I just read it so I can tell them they're wrong!' Hahaha. But he doesn't Bible Bash with us or anything, so that's good. He's accepted everything we've taught him so far.

Anyway, we have to go teach him right now, but I love you all a lot! Thanks for all the prayers and everything, they definitely help! Also this Gospel is amazing. I don't know how people can get through life without it. Have an awesome week. Love you all!

Liebe Grüße

Sister Shipton
